Our Cookie Policy

The launch version of Our Kickabout is deliberately light on tracking. This page explains what may be stored or requested and what will change before optional analytics or advertising is introduced.

Last updated: 23 July 2026

Current launch status

You can read the current site without accepting advertising or behavioural analytics. Some strictly necessary hosting, security and consent-preference technologies may still operate because the website cannot be delivered or protected without them.

Necessary: onDelivery, security and privacy choices
Analytics: offNo behavioural analytics intentionally enabled
Advertising: offNo advertising or cross-site profiling

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small piece of information stored on a browser or device. Websites can also use similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels or device identifiers. Some are essential to provide a service a visitor has requested. Others measure use, personalise content or support advertising and normally require an appropriate choice before they operate.

2. Technologies currently expected

CategoryPurposeCurrent positionTypical duration
Strictly necessary hosting and securityDeliver pages, balance traffic, protect the service and prevent abuseMay be set by SiteSell/Solo Build It! infrastructure without consent where legally exemptSession or the provider’s short operational period
Consent preferenceRemember whether a visitor accepted or rejected optional categoriesUsed when the SBI! GDPR consent widget is enabledUntil the recorded preference expires or is cleared
Google Fonts requestSome current pages request the Inter typeface from GoogleThis is a third-party network request rather than an intentional Our Kickabout cookie; it may disclose technical request data to GoogleControlled by browser caching and Google’s service practices
AnalyticsUnderstand page use and improve the siteNot intentionally enabled at launchNot applicable
Advertising and profilingPersonalised advertising or cross-site measurementNot used at launchNot applicable
Why there is no long cookie-name list yet: the locally built pages do not deliberately set named analytics or advertising cookies. Before publication, the live domain will be scanned after the SBI! widget is configured so this table can record any provider cookie names and exact lifetimes that appear in practice.

3. When optional services are added

If Our Kickabout introduces Google Analytics, advertising, embedded video, social-media widgets or another non-essential service, we will:

  1. identify the cookies and similar technologies it uses;
  2. update this page with their provider, purpose and duration;
  3. prevent the optional technology from loading until an appropriate choice is made where consent is required;
  4. offer a rejection option that is as clear and accessible as acceptance;
  5. provide a straightforward way to change or withdraw the choice.

4. How to control cookies

When the consent widget is active, use its settings control to accept, reject or revisit optional categories. You can also delete or block cookies through browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent parts of a website from working correctly.

Browser controls vary. Look for settings labelled Privacy, Cookies, Site Data or Tracking Protection. Clearing site data will normally remove the remembered consent preference, so the site may ask again on a later visit.

5. Legal basis

Under the UK rules governing cookies and similar technologies, strictly necessary technologies can be exempt from consent when they are essential to provide a service requested by the visitor. Optional analytics, advertising and comparable technologies will rely on consent where required. Personal data associated with those technologies is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Contact and updates

For questions about cookies or privacy, email help@ourkickabout.com. We will review this policy whenever the technology on the site changes and show the revised date at the top.
