Our Cookie Policy
The launch version of Our Kickabout is deliberately light on tracking. This page explains what may be stored or requested and what will change before optional analytics or advertising is introduced.
Last updated: 23 July 2026
Current launch status
You can read the current site without accepting advertising or behavioural analytics. Some strictly necessary hosting, security and consent-preference technologies may still operate because the website cannot be delivered or protected without them.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of information stored on a browser or device. Websites can also use similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels or device identifiers. Some are essential to provide a service a visitor has requested. Others measure use, personalise content or support advertising and normally require an appropriate choice before they operate.
2. Technologies currently expected
| Category | Purpose | Current position | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary hosting and security | Deliver pages, balance traffic, protect the service and prevent abuse | May be set by SiteSell/Solo Build It! infrastructure without consent where legally exempt | Session or the provider’s short operational period |
| Consent preference | Remember whether a visitor accepted or rejected optional categories | Used when the SBI! GDPR consent widget is enabled | Until the recorded preference expires or is cleared |
| Google Fonts request | Some current pages request the Inter typeface from Google | This is a third-party network request rather than an intentional Our Kickabout cookie; it may disclose technical request data to Google | Controlled by browser caching and Google’s service practices |
| Analytics | Understand page use and improve the site | Not intentionally enabled at launch | Not applicable |
| Advertising and profiling | Personalised advertising or cross-site measurement | Not used at launch | Not applicable |
3. When optional services are added
If Our Kickabout introduces Google Analytics, advertising, embedded video, social-media widgets or another non-essential service, we will:
- identify the cookies and similar technologies it uses;
- update this page with their provider, purpose and duration;
- prevent the optional technology from loading until an appropriate choice is made where consent is required;
- offer a rejection option that is as clear and accessible as acceptance;
- provide a straightforward way to change or withdraw the choice.
4. How to control cookies
When the consent widget is active, use its settings control to accept, reject or revisit optional categories. You can also delete or block cookies through browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent parts of a website from working correctly.
Browser controls vary. Look for settings labelled Privacy, Cookies, Site Data or Tracking Protection. Clearing site data will normally remove the remembered consent preference, so the site may ask again on a later visit.
5. Legal basis
Under the UK rules governing cookies and similar technologies, strictly necessary technologies can be exempt from consent when they are essential to provide a service requested by the visitor. Optional analytics, advertising and comparable technologies will rely on consent where required. Personal data associated with those technologies is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Contact and updates
For questions about cookies or privacy, email help@ourkickabout.com. We will review this policy whenever the technology on the site changes and show the revised date at the top.
